CBT for Internet Gaming/Tech Use

Educational content only. For severe impairment, seek clinician support. See our Medical Disclaimer.

Why CBT helps

  • Trigger mapping: identify cues (time, emotions, notifications).
  • Friction design: remove apps at night; block sites; set time boxes.
  • Alternative rewards: schedule competing activities in high‑risk windows.

Journaling prompts

  1. Trigger → urge (0–100) → barrier/limit → alt reward → outcome.
  2. One cue I changed (notifications/screens) and the effect.
  3. Value I practiced away from screens today.

Use with accountability; see How to Journal.
